A World of Wonder

Eric and I went to The Wonder Place today. Wow! What a neat place that is for little ones. Eric had a fabulous time. His favorite room to play in was the grocery store room. We played in there for at least an hour. He loved picking out food and letting me ring it up at the cash register. And then he loved working the cash register while I and some other children checked out from him. There was a water table, sand table, stage with costumes, puppet area, playhouse, kitchen, building area, art area. Then they had these tubes with air shooting through them. He could put little balls or scarves in them, and they would move through the tubes. He could flip a switch and change where they went. We had a great time and can't wait to go again.

Playdates and pains

Yesterday we had two great playdates. One was with Nate. Nate is a friend from our Gymboree days. He is 8 days younger than Eric and is going to be homeschooled also. He had a great inflatable jump toy that the boys had a blast in. They also played forever with one of Nate's little sister's toys.
We also had a playdate with Abbie. She is Eric's best little friend. I got to hold her little sister Aubrie for a long time. She is 7 weeks old and so precious.

After our busy day, Eric experienced some leg soreness and then pretty intense pain. The intense pain lasted for about 20 minutes. I gave him some Ibuprofen, and it seemed to take care of it. I think it may have been "growing pains". We are going to watch it.

Great 4 and sleeping

We were "playing school" yesterday, and Eric did a page in his workbook by himself. He was so proud, and so was I when I saw how great his 4 looked.
He is still working on his fine motor skills, but he loves writing all of his numbers and letters.

I don't know why I love taking pictures of him sleeping so much. Maybe because he just looks so peaceful and innocent. Either way, I have taken some sweet ones lately. As most of you know, he no longer uses his Bapi. He has been without it now for almost a month. He pretty much weaned himself, which was so nice. We were dreading that. So, now to go to sleep, he reads. He almost always reads his Look and Find Pooh book (thank you Aunt Tabitha and Uncle Aaron). He will sometimes tell me that he wants his Pooh book when he is tired. Most of the time he doesn't even turn the page.

Sweet, sweet baby!

Fell asleep on Page 1.

He likes to curl up on the rail of his bed.

Naptime with Pooh book.

A frog and a screw

After a long day of freezer cooking, Eric and I came home yesterday to find a tree frog in our kitchen. I tried to be brave, but I didn't do a very good job. I put a pot over it at first, but there was a gap near the handle, and the frog was able to escape. We both squealed at that. Then I put a tupperware bowl over it. Once it was secure under the dome, we were content to watch it.

Today Eric was drawing on his MagnaDoodle and he called me in to show me that he had drawn a screw. I was impressed with his drawing, so I took some pictures. He was thrilled to show off his artwork for the picture.

Yucky Day

Well, we haven't had the best day. Eric didn't eat well last night. He told me his tummy hurt. I figured it was because he has been very constipated lately. He woke up this morning around 5:30 with a tummy ache and started getting sick around 6:30. He threw up 4 times between 6:30 and 8:30. I gave him a Phenergan that we had at 8:00. I think it helped because he was able to go to sleep around 9, and he hasn't been sick anymore. I am hoping it is over. It has now been about 10 hours with no sickness. He has been able to hold down a piece of toast and 4 crackers, so I am feeling good about it. He has a lot of energy this evening since he has just laid around all day.

I Like Being a Kid

Well, we are joining the blogging world. I am going to use this to update everyone on the goings on within our family. I promise to put lots of pictures.

Today we went to a Kindersongs concert at the library. We went to one earlier in the year, and Eric loved it. Here are a couple of pics from this morning.

Eric is really into playing astronaut right now. Absolutely everything must blast off into outer space. He loves playing in "rocket ships", which are basically empty boxes.
