Oh to have the faith of a 3 year old
Last night Kelley called and was very upset because both her dog and Claudia's dog had gotten out of her fence and had been missing for 2 hours. As soon as I got off the phone with her, Eric and I prayed that the dogs would be safe and would come home. Then I told him we were going to go help look for the dogs, and he looked at me and said, "we don't have to go look, they are going to come home now." What beautiful faith! I told him sometimes God uses us to help fulfill prayers and that maybe he wanted us to help look. So, we looked for almost 2 hours driving around in the car. The dogs were eventually found, but I just thought his faith was precious and wanted to share. I will try to post something with pictures later.

Christ's Kid
We have a program at church called Christ's Kids. It is for ages 3 through 6th grade (I think). It is a Bible Memory program. Each year the children are given facts or passages to memorize. The 3 year old class is to memorize the 7 days of Creation, Jesus' mother and father, and the first man and woman. Eric finished his around Thanksgiving. Once they finish their memorization for the year, they are given a sheet with verses to memorize. So far Eric has memorized 4 Bible verses. He is doing great! We are working on verse 5 now. And he can still say all his verses, although he does occasionally get them mixed up. He does great for a 3 year old, though. A few weeks ago we were working on 1 Peter 5:7. Eric didn't understand me at first, so he would say "Peter Piper 7". I thought that was cute. When they quote a fact for the teacher on Sunday morning, they are given a "Hooray" badge that is pinned to their clothing. The picture is of him holding 2 of his. I took it around Thanksgiving.

Valentine Fun
Eric had his Gymboree Valentine party today. (I love when holidays are spread out over more than one day. It makes them so much more fun to me.) He had a great time making his box for the Valentines. The box has purple (his favorite color) paper. He drew a rocket for it and wrote his name. Then it has Larry Boy and Buzz on it. It is really cute. We worked hard on it.
After we made the box, we had to pick out a Valentine for each of the other 13 children. He took his time and picked a Valentine out for each child. We did Lily's first because she is his favorite friend at Gymboree, then he just went from there. It is funny because I remember how fun it was to pick the Valentine that said just the right thing or had just the right picture on it.
Then we made cupcakes to take today. Eric loves to cook. I mean he LOVES it! He is pretty independent and was determined to crack the eggs by himself. Well, he would crack them, and then he would throw the whole egg into the bowl, shell and all. I have no pictures of this because I was too busy trying to fish them out before we had shell in our cupcakes.
One game they play every week at Gymboree Preschool is the freeze dance. There is a special song for it, and it has built in "freeze" moments. Each week we freeze in a specific way based on the theme. Well, since it was Valentine's, we did a hug freeze. When the music would stop, everyone had to find someone to hug. I thought it was funny that Lily and Eric stayed right next to each other so that they could hug every single time. She is a sweet little girl, and I am glad he is friends with her.

Hunting for shorts
The weather was so unbelievably warm on Monday! Eric and I decided to go to the park with Caleb, Kelley, and Shelby, but I had to hunt for something for him to wear. I was not prepared for shorts weather on the 4th day of February. Thankfully, this outfit from last year still fit him. Even in the shorts and t-shirt, his cheeks were red and his hair was wet from sweat by the time we were through playing.
