More on Widget

Eric was so excited to get his new puppy yesterday. And he took ownership of him right away. He wanted to hold him in the car, and he held him a lot of the way home. Widget got sick a couple of times, which made Eric lose interest in the holding part. :)
Widget was a pretty nervous little guy. If you put him down, he would just lie there and whimper. He was not used to much people interaction, and I don't think he had ever been put down on the ground. It won't take him long to get adjusted.

Welcoming Widget

After our 8 and a half hour trip to get our new puppy, we are pretty exhausted. But, I wanted to post one picture tonight. I will try to put more up tomorrow. You know me, I took like 50 or so.

Webkinz love

Oh my boy and his Webkinz. He loves them so very much. He got his first one for Christmas (thank you Aunt Tabitha and Uncle Aaron). Now he has 6 and is completely hooked. He loves them online, but he adores them in person. He carries them around and loves on them. It became very real to him on Feb 4 when Crocky had his birthday. Eric said, "Is it really for real his birthday?" I think that made them seem alive to him. He carried Crocky around all day, and Crocky even homeschooled with us. Now at least one Webkinz is always present during our homeschool.
A week or two ago, we went to the park with our little friend Lauren. Eric asked me if he could take his Webkinz with him. I told him that he couldn't take them to the park, but that they could ride in the car with us. You would think my child had won the lottery. Look at his face.

We got him this one for Valentine's Day, and here he is going to school with us. Eric put him in this block wagon. The blocks were his food in case he got hungry.

I try to work them in to our lesson whenever possible. This is pretty easy with our math lessons. Here he is trying to make sure there is enough ice cream for the Webkinz who have come to the ice cream shop.

Bible verse silliness

We continue to make bible verse videos, even though I rarely get them on here. He likes to make each one different. I had no idea what he was doing in this one until we finished. Then he explained that he was being a puppet. I thought this was a creative take from my silly little boy!

Something you didn't know about me

I get invited to do surveys all the time about myself - 25 things you didn't know about me, all answers in one word, starting with my first letter, etc. I never do them. However, I thought I would share one thing that you don't know about me. I would be surprised if anyone besides my two guys knows this. I adore clouds. I can be rendered completely speechless by looking up at the sky. Eric and I spend about half of our time in the car talking about clouds. I love how they are constantly changing. I love when there are a few random ones in the sky; I love when the clouds are ripples like waves in an ocean; I even like the surprise of a completely cloudless day. The one thing I don't like is a gray sky, a sky that is a solid blanket of gray. No cloud amazement for me there. If I get to see the sun reflecting off the clouds as it rises or sets, I am elated. I took these pictures on our trip home from Texas in December. The sky was breathtaking that morning!

Even in this last one when all the gorgeous colors are gone, I am still awestruck by the beauty! How great is our God! He created the most amazing things for us to enjoy here on earth.

There you have it, one thing I bet you didn't know about me.

Bowling

Eric went bowling last Sunday for the first time. He had a BLAST! He has developed a love of bowling thanks to Dexter's Wii, but he definitely preferred the in person kind. He loved, loved, loved, loved it. He used the bumpers and a 6 pound ball. He was so happy to walk up there by himself with his ball and just sling it down the lane. He would watch it go down the lane while doing all kinds of interesting poses. I have no idea where he gets this stuff.... really I don't.

Thank you, Nana and Poppy for taking us all bowling. We had a great time!

Mackenzie

It has been 4 months since we lost our beloved Mackenzie. Although we still miss him terribly, we are finally starting to heal. Thank you all for your thoughts/prayers. I have had a hard time taking him off my blog, but it makes me so sad for him to be there, knowing he is not here. Kenz, we miss you and think of you all the time.
